The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) released some updates on major bridges affected by repairs and flooding.
Among them, I-70 East bridge at Rocheport is reduced to one lane, US 54 Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana, Mo. remains closed and I-29 Remains Closed North of St. Joseph.

Repairs scheduled for the I-64 Poplar Street Bridge in St. Louis and approach ramps from I-44 and I-55 are cancelled due to an unfavorable weather forecast. The work will be rescheduled in the coming weeks.
Emergency repairs to the I-70 East bridge at Rocheport will take place. Crews will be pulled if dangerous weather is in the area, but they will return to work when it clears. Extreme weather could lengthen the duration of the lane closure.
Rocheport Bridge – Interstate 70-East – MM 115 – ONE LANE OPEN while emergency repairs are underway – Starts 7 pm, Sat., May 4 through Weds., May 8. Weather and other delays could cause a longer closure.
The work requires repair of an expansion joint. These joints allow a bridge to expand and contract with changes in temperature. Repairs begin with the right lane and will switch to the left lane.
The speed limit will be set at 45 mph. Expect law enforcement to be present near this vital river crossing. Plan for delays. Alternate routes include US 50, US 36 and I-44.
Champ Clark Bridge – US 54 at Louisiana, Mo. CLOSED due to flooding on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River. Reopening date – unknown. Alternates include the I-72/US 36 Bridge at Hannibal.
Interstate 29 remains closed north of St. Joseph, Mo., until the Iowa DOT completes a rebuilding of sections of the interstate between our shared border and US 34.Current estimates call for this to occur in June.
ONLY LOCAL TRAFFIC is allowed between St. Joseph and the state line. THERE ARE NO GOOD, TRUCK-FRIENDLY SHORTCUTS TO THE RECOMMENDED DETOUR.
Please do not attempt to find a way through. Several have tried and ended up stranded.
